A chest compression feedback device is a medical device that monitors the quality of chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It provides real-time feedback to the rescuer on the depth, rate, and release of each compression. This helps ensure that CPR is being performed correctly and efficiently. The device also records data which can be used to analyze performance and improve outcomes. Chest compression feedback devices are commonly used in performing CPR, although they are not always necessary. They may be used with adults who have a high risk of death from cardiac arrest and in children with congenital heart defects or perinatal asphyxia. The chest compression feedback device consists of a high-resolution pressure sensor that is attached to the chest and connected by cable to an external monitor, typically a computer. The system also includes software which analyzes data collected by the device, including rate, depth and release of compressions. Centerline electrocardiogram (ECG) electrodes are placed on either side of the sternum before each compression to determine whether the CPR is being performed correctly. The ECG electrodes generate an electrical signal which can be used for advanced analysis in future research studies or for training. in CPR.



The chest compression feedback device is designed to encourage the use of two hands while performing chest compressions and reduce the risk of fatigue. It also provides visual feedback of good quality CPR, which can increase self-efficacy in performing bystander CPR.
