I got fine for driving at 37km/h in Liverpool, Sydney. There is a speed camera in 30 km/h speed zone in Liverpool, I didn't know there is a 30 zone in Sydney. Australian tyranny or nanny state whatever you call it, the government is clearly robbing public through speed cameras and they are installing more and more cameras.
You are not wrong, The government has gone too far, people in Australia has less freedom. People just like to say yes sir. On the name of safety they are just collecting revenue through people, it's unethical and it's a legal scam.
I believe 90% of people have paid road fines in Sydney. NSW government is just there collect revenue on the name of road safety. Why do they charge money when there are demerits points already in place? they simply wants to empty your pockets.
Every time I drove in school zones 95% of time there was not a single kid in a school zone during school zone hours.
some people say, they never got fine.
It's because you are just driving occasionally for shopping or dropping kids etc.
It's very difficult to work as a driver in Sydney as there are hundreds of speed cameras in Sydney and you will get fine, you won't be able to pay attention all the time. I have never lost my license in last 17 years but yes paid lots of fines as I am a drivers and always on the road, most of them were just minor offences like driving over 5-8 km/r over the speed limit by mistake.
Sydney is a mess, wherever you go there is a construction site and many construction workers playing with their phones doing nothing and getting paid from tax payers money for standing there and looking around. What premiers and mayors do?, sitting in the office and planning how to make more money through fines.
